What model of foam cutter do you use?

You "broke" one game rule, and that is that for the tank to be game-legal the sponson weapons must be the same on both sides - you can't have a Lascannon on one side and a Volkite Cannon on the other. BTW, in the 40k verse vehicles can date one hell of a lot older than a mere 100 years. The oldest references I can find would be Bjorn the Fell Handed (well, technically he's a Dreadnought and it's unclear whether the Dreadnought hull has been replaced over time, but the Space Marine has been connected to the life support sarcophagus for close to 10 000 years), another unnamed Dreadnought which the Tau determined has been in active service for around 6000 years, Nocturne's Hammer (technically an APC, 8000 years in service). Some of the vehicles used by the Chaos Space Marines also date to the Heresy (10 000 years) but due to the mutating nature of Chaos they're hardly normal machines any more.

Letting coarboard soak up the oil can be pretty fucking dangerous. Lots of paints use linseed oil which when drying is exothermic and can catch fire. This happens with rags let alone cardboard.

I love this, great old school manufacturing take on a sci-fi setting vehicle. So the reason for all the smooth shapes and no welding marks etc on space marine vehicles is that they are plated with ceramic sci-fi material called "ceramite" I would love to see your take on a Rogal Dorn MBT which in lore is metals and factory constructed similar to WWII German or American tanks

A tank only a hundred years old is dogshit in 40k... need at least to be a millennia years old to be good. The older something it is the more technologically advanced it will be since the Imperium is in constant technological decline

War gamer here. The pencil weathering trick works very well if you go over the edges with a very small amount of thin gloss.

I have wandered in from the Warhammer algorithm, and am curious about the choice of sponsons. I don't begrudge you the rules, but what made you chose two different guns on each side? Is that something you would expect on historical tanks?

6:30: FWIW: - Ive found a quik way to add circular wood grain to the exposed square end cuts of cut logs, beams, or dimensional lumber boards is to use the varying radii of circular hole punching tools, (descending from largest out upon edges to smallest @ the logs heart-wood) Using a small hammer & a flat/hard surface to support tapping as a Rough In for the end-cut wood grain.... -Then use a #11 hobby blade, wire brush, or twisting the piece upon large grit sandpaper to add finer wood grain & knock down the cut edges from hole punches & for additional random knicks, cuts, etc... -Turns out looking pretty convincing after primer, base coats, top coat paint(s), washes & dry-brushing applications.... Nice work as always!..;)

You mention not to touch the model after adding pencil. Is there a reason you're not applying a varnish layer to the finished model? E.g. would even Ultra matte interfere with the dry/weathered look? Does it unify surfaces when you actually want the variety of finishes?
